Surge Africa Delegation & Program Activities at RISE Action Festival
Over the past three years, Surge Africa has been consistent partners of RISE Africa, hosting events such as Cultural Aesthetic + Urbanisation, and Intersecting Advocacy with Climate Governance. This year, with its first in-person edition since the launch of the Urban Action Festival in 2021, Surge Africa joins RISE Africa as a valuable partner to bring together a delegation of high-level diplomatic changemakers to the Festival. Through this strategic approach, Surge Africa seeks to maximize its effort of advancing climate governance, by showcasing the importance of institutional and social changes in the way we plan our future cities.
By bringing a cohort of key government officials, they are able to interact with new systems of thinking around urban design, circularity, urban food systems, social inclusion and mobility. Implementing progressive policies on urban development requires a holistic approach of systems thinking, cultural innovation, and the ability to reimagine the change process by interfacing with many of the ideas, stakeholders, and innovation to be showcased at the Urban Action Festival.
