Bridje Fellows
The Better Research Integration for Democratising Journalism on Energy (BRIDJE) fellowship emerges from the recognition that communicating cutting-edge research in a form that resonates with local needs is crucial but challenging in countries like Nigeria, where available information that connects global energy issues with local needs is limited. This challenge also represents the project's greatest opportunity, as bridging this gap through systematic researcher-journalist collaboration can demonstrate transformative potential for energy communication in contexts where it is most needed. This program is delivered in Partnership with University of Birghmingham.CRGI Fellows
This Fellowship aims to develop knowledge and skills of journalists in how they report and convey stories of climate change and the politics of energy transition. The Fellowship will prioritise stories on energy transition. These examines the economic landscape from the lens of decentralizing energy systems, eradicating energy poverty, catalyzing phase out of fossil fuels, governance of transition minerals, and building structures to enable transition to take root. This program is delivered in Partnership with One World Media.
Climate Narrative Lab
The Climate Narratives Lab’s methodology combines an experience in the form of a seminar and a flash laboratory, comprising in-person moments at the LAB Procomum headquarters in Santos- São Paulo, followed by the creation of a common agenda. The Climate Narratives Lab is part of a larger agenda on climate justice, territorial and global collaboration that Surge Africa is spearheading.Impact Lab
Host spaces for participatory and creative exchanges among artists, storytellers & filmmakers on strategic and innovative ways to incorporate impact campaign as tool for mobilisation of population support towards addressing issues of social, environmental and political justice. Climate Litigation Lab
As climate movements continue to demand justice and accountability through lawsuits and legal procedures, climate litigation will emerge as a fundamental tool to protect human and environmental rights, seek accountability for commitments made at a governance level, and balance the barriers and tensions between local and international adaptation and decarbonization trajectories.
Climate Litigation Lab convenes legal practitioners, campaigners and communicators to develop strategic communications, media tools, and campaign entry points around emerging climate, environment, and extractive issues.
